Biacore™ T200 - System Details

Biacore T200 is a molecular interaction analysis system that delivers the highest quality data for every interaction parameter. The system monitors real-time, label-free interactions, providing information-rich data quickly and efficiently to enable well-informed conclusions to key research questions and provide confident selection and characterization of therapeutic candidates. The system offers a powerful, versatile solution for obtaining the highest quality kinetic, affinity, concentration, specificity, selectivity, and thermodynamic data and can be used for multiple applications, from early research to drug discovery and development, and on to QC.

Biacore T200 enables investigations involving molecular interactions where high sensitivity is a prerequisite:

Outstanding sensitivity for more acurate interpretation of molecular interactions
The increased sensitivity in Biacore T200 enables work on extremely low immobilization levels, returning cleaner data by avoiding artifacts from effects such as crowding, aggregation, or mass transport limitations. This makes it possible to minimize bivalency effects in antibody studies, lower nonspecific adsorption, confidently rank strong binders and much more.

Optimized for high quality kinetics

The microfluidics are designed to give the best possible conditions for accurate reference subtraction and are optimized for the highest quality kinetics. Biacore T200 enables measurement of kinetic constants over the broadest range, from the fastest on-rates to the slowest off-rates.

This enables confident ranking of strong binders, which can be important in antibody selection. It also enables the detection of differences among rapid binders, an important feature when studying biological processes limited by bioavailability.

Dedicated software support for data evaluation

Fast, simple kinetic analysis
Biacore T200 Software offers tools for obtaining the highest quality kinetic analysis. This can be performed using either the traditional multicycle approach (using one sample concentration per cycle), or  using single-cycle kinetics, which enables the analysis of previously difficult molecular interactions and also reduces assay development time (for more information - click here).

Biacore T200 Evaluation Software enables kinetic evaluation of interactions with a few simple clicks:
• Process multiple samples simultaneously, fit kinetic data using several
  available interaction models, with automatic subtraction of reference
   and blank data
• Automated quality control tools assess the quality of fitting in relation to
  multiple predefined parameters
• A range of tools facilitate convenient data selection, comparison and
  presentation

Efficient, reliable concentration analysis
Biacore T200 enables confident measurement of active concentration using software-supported direct binding and inhibition assays:
• Monitor sensor surface stability via repeated calibration curves, 
  providing reliable data between runs
• Ensure rigorous quality control by inclusion of control samples

Biacore T200 also offers the option of calibration-free concentration analysis (CFCA), which can be a valuable approach where no satisfactory calibration standard is available, or to check the specified concentration of a standard. To read more about CFCA - click here.

Thermodynamic analysis
Dedicated software wizards, built-in buffer degassing, and temperature control of Biacore T200 make thermodynamic analysis easier than ever.
• Obtain equilibrium thermodynamic data (values in close agreement
   with those obtained using ITC as provided by GE Healthcare
   Microcal™ systems)
• Obtain transition state thermodynamics using integration of rate
   constants measured across several temperatures to reveal the
   forces driving the interaction

Immunogenicity testing
Tools for confident detection and characterization of anti-drug antibodies (ADAs) during preclinical and clinical development are included as standard with Biacore T200.
