Who Should Attend?
New users who need basic information about Biacore systems and technology to start using their system for high quality analysis of molecular interactions.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this course, the participants will have the basic understanding of Biacore technology, system operation, assay development, data evaluation and system maintenance to start working with their own assays.
Course Description
The new user gets familiarized with the Biacore system through theory lectures and hands-on sessions and receives comprehensive course documentation. The participants work in small groups on the hands-on exercises and individually on data evaluation exercises to allow for optimum support, as well as accommodating individual pace. The theory lectures include:
•
The principles of the technology
•
Basic Biacore Assay Development
•
Interfacing with the Biacore System
•
Application of Biacore Technology: Principles and Typical Results
•
Basic Kinetics
•
Maintenance
During the hands-on sessions the participants work in the lab and run assays that demonstrate the principles of Biacore assays. The small groups allow for individual support from our experienced lecturers as well as discussions with other participants in an informal environment. The participants are guided through the basic features of BIAevaluation software and practice data evaluation on the results from the hands-on exercises, as well as on demonstration files. At the end of the course, participants receive a certificate of completion.
