Biacore A100: Analyzing Protein-Protein Interactions

Who should attend?

New users who need basic information to start using Biacore A100 for high quality analysis of protein-protein interactions.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this course, the participants will have the basic understanding of Biacore technology, Biacore A100 system operation, assay development, data evaluation and system maintenance to start working with their own assays.

Course Description

The new user gets familiarized with Biacore A100 through theory lectures and hands-on sessions and receives comprehensive course documentation. The participants work in small groups on the hands-on exercises and individually on data evaluation exercises to allow for optimum support. This course focuses on both screening and kinetic characterization assays. Experimental design, important parameters and troubleshooting are extensively discussed. The theory lectures include:

· Biacore Basics
· Introduction to Biacore A100
· Basic Methodology and Assay Development
· Screening assays
· Kinetic and affinity assays
· Tricks, hints and troubleshooting
· Maintenance
· GxP functionality

During the hands-on sessions the participants work in the lab and run assays that demonstrate the principles of Biacore A100 assays. The small groups allow for individual support from our experienced lecturers as well as discussions with other participants in an informal environment. The participants are guided through the basic features of Biacore A100 software and practice data evaluation on the results from the hands-on exercises, as well as on demonstration data sets. At the end of the course, participants receive a certificate of completion.
