New users who need basic information to start using Biacore S200 for high quality analysis of small molecules and fragments.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this course, the participants will have the basic understanding of Biacore technology, Biacore S200 system operation, assay development, data evaluation and system maintenance to start working with their own assays.

Course Description

The new user gets familiarized with Biacore S200 through theory lectures and hands-on sessions and receives comprehensive course documentation. The participants work in small groups on the hands-on exercises and individually on data evaluation exercises to allow for optimum support. The theory lectures include:

· The principles of the technology
· Biacore S200 hardware and software
· LMW/fragment assay development
· Applications of Biacore S200: LMW/fragment screening, characterization
· Maintenance

During the hands-on sessions the participants work in the lab and run assays that demonstrate the principles of Biacore assays. The small groups allow for individual support from our experienced lecturers as well as discussions with other participants in an informal environment. The participants are guided through the basic features of Biacore S200 software and practice data evaluation on the results from the hands-on exercises, as well as on demonstration files.
